Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Prilo Technologies LLC (“Prilo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use WeatherEdge (the “Service”), accessible at prilo-weatheredge.web.app and related domains.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you disagree, please discontinue use of the Service.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and display name via OAuth 2.0 — we do not receive your Google password.

Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, weather stations viewed, and session timestamps. This data is collected via Firebase Analytics and is used to improve the Service.

Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full billing address on our servers. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status from Stripe.

Paper trading data: Virtual trade records, account balance, and performance statistics are stored in our database and associated with your account. This data has no monetary value.

UI preferences: Layout settings and dashboard preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage and are not transmitted to our servers.

Automatically collected data: Our hosting infrastructure (Firebase Hosting on Google Cloud) may log IP addresses, request timestamps, and user agents as part of standard server logging.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• Process subscription payments and manage your account;
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts) — we do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent;
• Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse;
• Generate AI coach analysis (Max plan) using snapshot data — your personal information is not sent to AI providers;
• Aggregate and anonymize usage patterns to improve model accuracy and feature design.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

WeatherEdge relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), hosting, and cloud functions. Firebase Privacy
• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and subscription management. Stripe Privacy
• Google AI (Gemini) — AI-generated coach briefs and scenario analyses (Max plan only). Prompts contain weather data snapshots only, not personal information.
• National Weather Service (NWS / NOAA) — weather observation and forecast data. No personal data is shared.
• Kalshi, Inc. — prediction market pricing data via their public API. No personal data is shared.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (e.g., billing records may be retained for up to 7 years per tax law).

Model learning logs are retained on a rolling 180-day window and are automatically pruned. Paper trade records are retained for the life of your account.

All users: You may access, correct, or delete your personal data by contacting us at privacy@prilo.tech. You may also delete your account at any time through the account portal.

EEA / UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (providing the Service) and legitimate interests (improving the Service).

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@prilo.tech.

WeatherEdge does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use:

• Firebase authentication session cookies — strictly necessary to keep you signed in. These expire after 1 hour of inactivity.
• Browser localStorage — stores your dashboard layout preferences (widget order, selected station, chart spans) locally in your browser. This data is never transmitted to our servers and is cleared when you clear your browser storage.

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, Firebase Security Rules to restrict database access, and Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure for payment data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to security@prilo.tech.

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above and, for significant changes, by sending an email to your registered address. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
